6 months & Rub-a-dub-dub

It's hard to believe 6 months have already gone by since we welcome Trey to this crazy world!  He is now sitting up on his own and enjoying the toys he gets to play with while sitting on the floor.  I think he is going to be crawling very soon, as he keeps diving onto his stomach from the sitting position.  He's also already scooting and rolling across the floor to get to things he wants.  We are waiting for his bottom teeth to pop through.  Even though he is still a very happy baby overall, he has been a little bit fussy the past few days.  And EVERYTHING goes straight to his mouth :-)

Stats: Weight - 19 lbs. 1.8 oz. (75%), Height - 26 1/4 in. (50%)

It was very difficult to get his 6 month picture in chair - he kept trying to grab the sign.  I tried giving him a football to hold for distraction...

Now that Trey can sit, it's much easier to give him a bath in the regular tub!  Last night I put them both in together for some photo ops (and multi-tasking) :-)

5 months

Fall sports have started, and along with them, our busy schedule!  I'm a couple of weeks late on this post, but better late than never!  Trey rolled from back to front for the first time on August 24th, then from belly to back on August 28th.  He's almost sitting by himself now as well.  I have a feeling we're going to be chasing him around in no time!  He is currently fighting an ear infection and conjunctivitis, but still has his usual good-natured, happy attitude!

Toothbrush!

Family Wedding

We went to a family wedding last weekend.  I believe it was the first wedding Brianna and Trey (obviously) had ever been to.  We all enjoyed it!  Austin showed us his moves on the dance floor.  Trey got passed around between family members, so was held the entire night.  Brianna got to eat cake, was amazed by the bride, and was all over the dance floor!

Videos of the kids cutting a rug :-)

Soccer

Brianna had her first soccer practice on Monday.  She did pretty well, but actually hid behind me at one point and said "I'm shy."  I said "No you are not!  Get out there!"  Too funny.  We found out about the practice late because the coach was given my wrong email address.  So Brianna was not as prepared for the practice as the other kids, not having cleats or her own ball.  She was able to borrow someone else's pink ball and ended up doing pretty well.  She now should be all set with her new cleats, black shorts and shin guards (which she didn't want me to buy because "black is not her favorite color"), a shiny purple ball, and a pink water bottle, so I think she will be more excited about her next practice :-)

Baby food and bath

At Trey's 4 month checkup, the doctor said it would be fine if we went ahead and started giving him some food.  She said we could wait until 6 months, but that eating is something that babies have to learn, just like with anything else.  I thought I was going to wait until closer to 6 months to start feeding him baby food, but after talking to the doctor, I decided to go ahead and see how he did with it.  I have made his food so far using fresh vegetables and fruit.  His first food was sweet potatoes, which he didn't like very well!  The second food he tried was bananas, which he loves!!!  Here is a video and some pictures of him trying sweet potatoes for the first time :-)
Before picture...all clean
Not so sure about this...

After Trey eats, he goes straight to the bathtub.  We've recently had to put his baby bathtub into the larger bathtub instead of in the kitchen sink because of how much he kicks while in the water!  I tried to get it on video.  He was actually a little more tame than usual while I had the camera going.

4 months

Trey is now 4 months old!  He weighed in at 16 lbs 10 oz (80%) at his checkup yesterday and is 25.25 inches long (70%).  He's right on track with all of his developmental milestones and the doctor said he looks great!  He had to get two shots, which have left him a little sleepy and feverish the past 24 hours.  He is still smiling and laughing at his big sister like usual though.  Such a happy boy!

Loves grabbing his toes...he hasn't rolled over yet but is getting close!
